Sweet Angels’ School
A project extremely close to FSL’s heart, and our CSR journey, is our partnership with Sweet Angels’ School. In 2007 a request was received, to support a school that was aspiring to educate kids from socially marginalized communities in Darjeeling.

Struggling to support young children who needed primary education but were denied due to economic challenges faced in the remote and poor communities of the tea estate workers, the management of this school reached out to us.

With the firm belief that education is a fundamental human right and essential for children to lift themselves out of poverty and define their destinies as people; we wholeheartedly embraced this project. Mr. David Phillips, CEO & MD, Freight Systems, visited the school in 2007 to strengthen them with ideas to carry on with this noble cause and helped create infrastructure and facilities to create an ongoing institution. Changing a community’s future by channelizing impressionable young minds towards possibilities was at the heart of FSL’s collaborative effort with the school.

Our involvement with this school has made it possible for kids from the rural economically browbeaten community to dream big and turn these dreams into reality.

CCDT YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM
CCDT, the Committed Communities Development Trust, has been working with the most marginalized and vulnerable communities across Maharashtra and has gone the last mile to reach children and families in crisis.

FSL truly believes in empowering the next generation, with the education, tools, and understanding so they can create better futures for themselves as well as the communities around them.

In 2020 we partnered with CCDT to support their youth empowerment program.  We worked together to empower 140 young boys & girls from marginalized communities of Mumbai, India.

We delivered education, and skill development training in a variety of topics provided through the digital medium.  With this, we aimed to develop future employability so that participants could create better futures for themselves as well as the communities around them, through careers in growing and expanding sectors.
